Casting Simulation System "ADSTEFAN"**
(ADvanced Solidification TEchnology for Foundry Aided by Numerical simulation)
Dr ANZAI Koichi et al, Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, developed a simulation system for foundry which can perform numerical analysis on flow phenomenon and heat conduction of fluid metal during the casting process. This technology was transferred to Hitachi, Ltd. in Japan, and then the software based on such technology was developed and is now commercially available from Hitachi Industry & Control Solutions, Ltd. as ADSTEFAN. ADSTEFAN operates under various OS such as Unix, Linux and Windows.
